From Trauma to Triumph is a roadmap out of a system that often offers no roadmap to success but one that instead inspired me to find my own way. In addition to penning this book, I am currently completing my Doctoral Degree in Executive Leadership. My dissertation topic is African American women who experienced foster care and identify as transformational leaders.
My focus, like the one you'll find in the pages of this book, is on post-traumatic healing and growth. Additionally, as the Founder of Fostering Greatness (2019), I have helped hundreds of young adults and foster alumni of color to succeed despite the many challenges they face along the way. As an "Alumni" – not a "former foster child," I work toward ensuring young adults leaving the foster care system see a clear path ahead for themselves, a path that leads to success.
